My husband Brant works in Mill Valley for Wagstaff Architects as project lead for various types of projects. The firm does a lot of high end residential but they also have a lot of experience in mixed use, and commercial.

Current Projects

Morrison Residence

This is one of the largest residences that Brant has designed so far. Coming in around 5200 square feet, this mediterranean/spanish revival home is still under construction. The Morrison residence is progressing nicely. Alan Buschert, the contractor, has done a lovely job and has just "closed in" meaning that they've recently put up the drywall and have had the walls finished with a subtle and uniquely derived surface for the interiors. The clients are fairly social and wanted a kitchen that suited their desires for frequent use and professional level equipment and that worked central to most of the social areas. Since they have children, they elected to have a family and media room that could be closed off from the rest of the social areas. Additionally, the client insisted on having a room where music or a piano could be played without disturbing others in the house. The walls and doors around the library were sound proofed to accomplish this directive.

The original renderings of the project show the North (front) elevation of the residence without many of the trees that can obscure the full view. spacer

Background

In Seattle, Brant started out his architectural career by being hired away from his teaching position and started working on both urban and rural 'cell sites' for Sprint and other communications companies in which he is very proud of the quality of work he did where skillful discretion in hiding the equipment was his forte. He then moved on to work on teams for projects as varied as a heliport at the Grand Canyon, 'prominent flag' hotels, historic preservation, assisted living facilities, retail and commercial mixed uses.

Brant attended the Univerisity of Washington School of Architecture for his undergratuate and for his graduate work went to the Rhode Island School of Design Masters Architecture. Brant also has extensive experience and schooling in Computer Science. At the University of Washington, he was recognized for his contributions and participation at the Human Interface Technology Laboratory and taught AutoCAD, Photoshop and advanced media.

Brant has worked with Wagstaff Architects since 2004 where he has designed residential, commercial, institutional, and mixed use projects.
